Macon County Needs Creative Alternatives to Slow Dropout Rate

Ninety students dropped out of Macon County Schools in 2005-2006, the equivalent of two fully loaded school buses driving away, never to return to school.  Around 22,000 students in North Carolina drop out of school each year, equal to 448 school buses full of kids.  That’s two and half school buses per school day, gone.
