May is Safe Jobs for Youth Month! An annual public awareness campaign that highlights the importance of preventing young workers from getting injured on the job.  Young workers under age 25 are twice as likely to get injured on the job as older workers. Youth need to be prepared to enter the workforce and schools, youth employment and community programs can be important venues for teaching youth these skills. Participants will walk through three activities they can use to help inform all youth about job health and safety.

As the summer job season approaches, many young people are entering the workforce for the very first time. There’s a good chance no one has ever told them about their rights on the job, or how to stay safe at work.  This webinar will walk participants through three separate activities they can use to better prepare youth to work safely, know their rights and responsibilities, and know how to speak up effectively when problems arise at work.

Every 6 minutes, somewhere in the U.S. a teenager is injured seriously enough on the job to go to a hospital emergency room. 30-50 teens die from their injuries each year.  Join your RAPSA colleagues and learn how you can help prevent these injuries.

Webinar registrants will receive access to a free resource kit for teachers and others working with youth and a free student-created poster promoting young worker health and safety
