Reaching At-Promise Students Association

Established in 2007 by the School for Integrated Academics and Technologies, RAPSA has grown into a transformative force within the alternative educational landscape. Originating from a need to address the challenges faced by at-promise youth within traditional education systems, RAPSA has evolved into a well-regarded nonprofit. Over the years, it has actively engaged with and impacted more than 7,700 schools and educators across the nation.

Past Success

RAPSA has a track record of success, with over 3,500 educators having successfully completed their programs. The organization has collaborated with 250 expert educational presenters, establishing itself as a national hub for professional development activities since 2007. Hosting numerous online chats, webinars, and releasing impactful policy reports, RAPSA has become an influential player in the conversation surrounding at-promise youth education.

Mission and Focus

RAPSA’s overarching mission is to support educators in establishing equitable schools and systems, particularly for At-Promise students. RAPSA provides professional development opportunities and cultivates a collaborative platform for educators, offering tailored support to those facing unique challenges in reaching and empowering at-promise students.

Strategic Priorities

RAPSA strategically guides its initiatives to create meaningful learning opportunities for educators working with at-promise youth. Advocacy for accountability measures, support for innovative partnerships, the fostering of networking and connections among practitioners, and the promotion of personalized learning for all students are key pillars of RAPSA’s strategic priorities. These priorities underscore the organization’s commitment to bridging the gap between policy, research, and practical implementation in the realm of education.

RAPSA’s Future

As RAPSA looks to the future, the organization envisions building organizational capacity. This includes hiring a dedicated full-time Executive Director, developing a comprehensive communications strategy, and integrating a membership fee structure. RAPSA aspires to produce high-quality conferences, webinars, and learning opportunities on a national scale, aiming to create an equitable school culture that extends across the entire educational landscape.
