The Reaching At-Promise Students Association is honored to stand alongside The Stuart Foundation, a visionary philanthropic leader dedicated to transforming public education so that every adolescent can thrive. Since its founding in 1985, the Stuart Foundation has focused on systems-level change by investing in education reforms that uplift youth, especially those furthest from opportunity in states like California and Washington. Their mission aligns seamlessly with ours: both organizations believe that adolescents deserve public-school environments designed for radically inclusive learning, civic engagement, and equitable outcomes.

Through its strategic priorities, the Foundation works at the intersection of Thriving Adolescents and Transforming Systems for Equity. It supports grantee partners with funding, collaborative networks, and deep learning opportunities to nurture high-functioning, equitable education systems—environments where young people experience belonging, agency, and purpose.

Among its marquee initiatives, the Purpose of Education (POE) Fund invests in civic-leaning, youth-centered education, supporting community engagement, experiential learning, and youth organizing to build agency and belonging in democratic life. Alongside, the Youth Thriving Through Learning (YTL) Fund reimagines the high school experience by supporting innovations like community schools, dual enrollment, and college-career pathways, giving students meaningful, connected transitions into adulthood.

RAPSA’s work nurturing educators, students, and policymakers in alternative education pathways echoes the Stuart Foundation’s drive to reshape systems and empower youth. Together, we are creating spaces where At-Promise and Opportunity Youth can succeed academically, grow personally, and enter post-secondary and civic life with confidence and purpose.

We are deeply grateful for the Stuart Foundation’s continued partnership and commitment. Together, we are reimagining what education can be for every young person.
